Eastvale is situated on flat land in Riverside County, CA. The San Gabriel Mountain Range, visible in the distance, lies to the city’s north and northeastern side. To the southwest are the Santa Ana Mountains and the Los Angeles Basin region.

A short history of Eastvale

Thousands of years ago, the land where Eastvale and its neighboring communities now sit was predominantly the domain of the Tongva people, one of the oldest indigenous tribes that originally inhabited the area. Spanish settlers and missionaries established a firm foothold in the region during the second half of the 1700s.

Beginning in the Spanish colonial period, the area now occupied by Eastvale and its neighbors to the northwest (Ontario and Chino) and southeast (Corona, and Norco) began thriving as farming communities. During Mexican rule, the local dairy industry grew to a sizable degree.

However, Eastvale wouldn’t be recognized by its current name until 1893, about 40 years after California officially became part of US territory.

In the advent of the 20th century, the rise of nearby Los Angeles meant that more living space was needed for a booming population. Housing was becoming more of a priority, and an increasing number of farmlands in the Eastvale area moved to the fringes.

New developments in succeeding years continued to replace farms. And with its incorporation in 2010, Eastvale became the newest city and residential suburban community in Riverside County and the state of California.
